SIG Aims and Proposed Activities
- Broadening knowledge of disease pathophysiology, diagnosis, and management of cirrhotic cardiomyopathy, cardiovascular disease in high-risk populations such as those with NAFLD and Fontan-associated liver disease, cardiovascular risk stratification prior to liver transplantation, and long-term cardiovascular outcomes after liver transplantation.
- Fostering collaborations in basic and translational/clinical studies of cardiovascular diseases in liver patients.
- Providing a platform for collaboration with related societies including but not limited to the American Heart Association, American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, European Association for the study of the liver.
- Tailoring educational needs for each member across the novice to expert spectrum using online educational series, webinars, annual meetings, and workshops.
- Retaining active and motivated members by offering additional opportunities to serve in leadership positions within ILTS through the development of subcommittees and workgroups.
- Increasing membership within ILTS by attracting non-liver specialists interested in multidisciplinary collaboration within the sphere of cardiovascular diseases in liver patients.
- Establishing networking opportunities through in-person meetings at the ILTS Annual Meeting.
The Cardiovascular Special Interest Group is open to any member of the ILTS, and we encourage all members with a special interest in one or all of these exciting and rapidly advancing fields to join.
