Speakers

Dr. Duclos-Vallée is a professor of Hepatology at the Centre Hépato-Biliaire, Paul-Brousse Hospital, Villejuif, France. He is the president of the French Institute of Biofabrication: https://ifbf-institute.org and the coordinator of the University Hospital Federation “Hepatinov” which promotes innovative projects in Hepatology and more particularly in liver regenerative medicine: https://ifbf-institute.org. His areas of expertise are end stage liver disease, liver transplantation, rare liver disorders, and bioengineering

Dr. Blasi is an Anesthesiology consultant in the liver transplant team at the Hospital Clinic in Barcelona. She is also a researcher at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), and University Medical Centre Groninga (UMCG) laboratory. Her areas of interest are coagulation in liver disease and perioperative management of liver transplant candidates.

Moderators

Dr. Wendon is a Consultant Physician at King’s College Hospital. She has developed a unique facility with a worldwide reputation for the care of critically ill patients with liver disease. She is currently Clinical Director of the Critical Care Division. Her publications on various aspects of management of acute liver failure have significantly impacted the international standards of care applied to the critically ill liver patient. She was awarded a professorial chair in 2012. She is a member of the scientific steering committee of the Chronic Liver Failure Consortium of European Centres and has been invited to chair a European Acute Liver Failure Consortium.

Dr. Izzy is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and a Transplant Hepatology consultant at Vanderbilt University Medical Centre. He serves as the chair for the education and scholarship committee of ILTS and the co-chair/topic coordinator for the Cardiovascular Special Interest Group of ILTS. His main research interest is in clinical outcomes that relate to Cirrhotic Cardiomyopathy and cardiovascular disease in liver transplant candidates and recipients. He is one of the founding members for the Cirrhotic Cardiomyopathy Consortium that published the new diagnostic criteria for Cirrhotic Cardiomyopathy in 2020.
